The Cougars took on the Canadian Military Team in a friendly match 7v7.
The Cougars side was a depleted squad of about eight players with a extra goalkeeper as a reserve and the Military team had 17+ players evaluating their squad before the championships in Germany.
I thought it was a good match overall with the Cougars scoring first and the military team came back to scored two late goals; a late push from the Cougars couldn't find the equalizer. The score was kept close with some excellent goalkeeping by Kelsey Marklund, (3rd yr). The Cougars will continue with their Futsal training over the next few weeks in preparations for the ACAC Futsal Championships in Medicine Hat March 9-11. The Cougars are ranked #1 heading into the tournament.
