The team started slowly for the final and this seemed to put the squad behind playing catch up for the entire match. The team's best performance came Friday during the first match where the team showed great skill in passing and movement off the ball. Unfortunately as the weekend went on the team couldn't keep this consistency in play. Without playing MHC at the first tournament in Fort McMurray, the Cougars seemed surprised by the play of the Rattlers. After 10 minutes into the match the score was a 3-1 lead for the ratters. With some determination and belief the team battled back keeping the score close at 4-3 but wasn't able to find the equalizer late in the game.
The team will now prepare for the championship weekend later in March in Medicine Hat. Not only will the Cougars need to play better against the Rattlers in a few weeks time, they will also have to tame the Rattlers fan base who can at times make the place a difficult place to play.
