Today the team held a mini ID camp for local prospects. It was an opportunity for many to get on campus, meet the head coach and speak with the current players. The main focus of the event was to give the coach an opportunity to see the local players play and decide how and if any could fit into the future plans of the team as they transition to the CIS next fall.
Overall it was a success. The coaching staff was pleased with the play of all players and will continue to look for commitments from its recruits in the coming weeks as the team looks to prepare for its winter futsal and offseason starting in January 2012.
The team received some positive news today that current captain and fourth year nursing student, Janelle Carbert with be back for her 5th and final season with the squad.
Next week the current players and players who have finalized the commitment to the team will be tested physically to start preparations for the inaugural 2012 Canada West season.
Exciting times here for the cougar women's soccer program.
Note: MRU will be hosting an information session on November 30th from 7pm-9pm for prospects interested in learning more about the sport programs. Contact the coach to learn more.
