Well the summer has almost past us by - or at least it feels that way with pre-season camp only three weeks away.
While the head coach was away in Poland and Russia for three weeks working with the Canadian University Women's Team at FISU; the majority of the team and a few rookies found their way to Vernon for a little R&R and some (PRE) pre-season team bonding at the Neilson household.
It's nice to see the team spending time together and enjoying each other off the field. I am thinking that after a 8 hour bus ride (one way) and some crammed hotel rooms for the pre-season tournament, the team will need a a much needed break heading into the season.
The team opens camp mid-August and it's a full schedule. Time to start preparing the bodies and mind for the challenges ahead. It's going to be a good one. MRU opens league play September 7th at home vs. Calgary. (the teams tied 1-1 last season).
