Captain's BLOG - week 1 pre-season..... (unedited)
Hey Cougars!
It was great to see some old faces and new prospects during the first official week of training camp for the 2011 womens soccer team. Despite the sweltering heat and harsh conditions the first week of the cougar womens soccer training camp took a step in the right direction, showcasing new and returning talent for the upcoming season of 2011! Looks like this batch of girls is going to be a very hardworking and unified squad. All week everyone gave it their all in every drill making for high tempo sessions which is what we need heading into the tournament this weekend. With some good competition ahead, the cougars look to compete and challenge themselves to improve as a team to be the best they can be heading into the 2011 season!

The 2011 Coaching Staff has been confirmed
Chrissy Schlechter, will be returning for her second year to the MRU Cougars coaching staff in 2011. She assisted with the Cougars in 2010 to their perfect 10-0 league play.
This season, Chrissy will be responsible for the goalkeepers in camp. She will conduct weekly training for the keepers. During her college days at Idaho State University (IDU) she was their starting goalkeeper.
Nelson still holds single season ISU records for goals against average (0.93 in 2000), and saves (132 in 1998). Nelson also owns career records for minutes played
(4,285), wins (15, tied) and saves (280).
We look forward to working with Chrissy in 2011.
